Use 1688 in English: confirm variants, units and prices

Use 1688 in English while keeping Chinese variant labels, counting units and prices. Turn a translated listing into a supplier-confirmed brief.

THE SHORT ANSWER

How can a UK buyer use a Chinese 1688 listing in English?

To use a Chinese 1688 listing in English, use page or image translation to prepare your enquiry. Then confirm the exact variant, counting unit, quantity and price with the supplier. Keep the original Chinese labels beside the checked English interpretation, product link and dated supplier reply before approving the purchase.

Translate the listing, then verify the selected variant

Use page or image translation to identify a candidate product and the questions its listing leaves open. Save the URL, supplier, date and selected variant. A translated heading or lowest displayed price may describe another option. Mark image text the tool could not read, then ask the supplier to confirm any detail that affects the order.

Copy the selection before interpreting it

Create one brief row for each proposed SKU. Save the Chinese variant label exactly, including any model code, and add your English interpretation in a separate field. Attach the screenshot showing the selected option. A colour name, measurement or pack description needs its own supplier confirmation if it affects what you can sell. When two options translate to the same English words, keep both Chinese labels and ask the seller to explain the difference. Do not merge them into one SKU because the translation looks identical.

Scroll sideways if needed. Keyboard: focus the table area and use the left and right arrow keys.

Reconcile items, sets and packs

Work through an original illustration: your draft asks for 120 individual pieces, while the selected offer is described as packs of two. If the seller confirms that meaning, the proposed order is 60 packs containing 120 pieces. Ask whether the minimum and price tier are expressed in packs or pieces before calculating the goods value. This is an invented example, not a quotation or customer order. Retain the purchase and base stock units so purchasing and receipt count the same goods.

Retain the counting unit

A piece, pair, set and pack can describe different quantities. Obtain the supplier's confirmation before turning the quoted unit into stock.

Translate the offer into questions the supplier can answer

Ask about one selection at a time, using its listing and original variant label. Request the included parts, material, dimensions, quantities, sample options and stock or production status. Clarify the quantity behind each price and any supplier packaging or China domestic delivery charge. Retain the original reply with a checked English interpretation. Obtain suitable language or product review where a technical requirement remains ambiguous.

  • Please confirm the original variant label and the exact item it identifies.
  • Please state the contents of one quoted unit and the minimum for this selection.
  • Please quote our specified mix and identify any difference from the linked listing.

Resolve differences in one current specification

Compare the page, supplier reply, sample and your product brief. If they disagree, ask the supplier which proposed specification and price it is offering; record the answer before acceptance. Give the resulting brief a version and date. Include the original Chinese labels alongside your own SKU codes so the supplier and receiving team can identify the selection. Retain older evidence and identify the current instruction. Ask about later listing edits before changing your order.

Carry the meaning into receipt and dispatch

Share the approved SKU record with whoever purchases, receives and checks the goods. Ask which labels or packing references the supplier will actually use. Set the checking quantity and features separately from the translation work, then compare receipt findings with the approved brief. A correct English description does not establish that the delivered batch matches it. If a variant cannot be identified from the goods or carton marks, request clarification and a recorded decision before that stock joins the UK shipment.

Send the selection and the questions

Share the link, original variant labels, quantities and unresolved wording. Our purchasing service fee is 9% of the goods purchase amount. We can discuss supplier communication and the defined brief.

Questions before you order

Can I order using the English translation alone?

Use it to prepare your enquiry. Obtain confirmation of the actual selection, units, quantities and terms from the supplier before approving the order. Save any unresolved wording for language or product review.

What if text inside the product pictures stays in Chinese?

Record the image and ask for the relevant text and meaning. Image translation can help you form a question, but essential dimensions, materials or included parts need a clear supplier reply.

Should I delete the Chinese variant names from my brief?

Keep them alongside your English description and own SKU code. They help the supplier identify the selection and help you investigate two options that translated into the same words.

Does translating a listing confirm UK product requirements?

It records what the text appears to say. Identify the product documents and any specialist assessment your intended goods and market require separately before purchasing.
