How do you track several 1688 orders through to a UK warehouse?
Track a China-to-UK shipment by linking supplier orders and domestic parcels to warehouse receipts, released cartons, international transport and UK delivery references. Record each event's source, time and goods covered. Ask the responsible provider to explain unclear stages. A status label alone does not confirm receipt, departure, customs release or acceptance of every carton.

Connect the references used at each handover rather than assuming one tracking number describes the whole journey.

Start with the cartons behind the numbers
Map each tracking reference to the actual goods. A supplier order may arrive in several China parcels; consolidated orders may leave under one international shipment and later split across UK delivery references. Show which cartons each reference covers. Keep outstanding parcels open even when another parcel from the same order has a delivered scan.
Scroll sideways if needed. Keyboard: focus the table area and use the left and right arrow keys.
| Stage | Connect these references | Evidence to retain |
|---|---|---|
| Supplier to China receipt | Purchase order, domestic parcel and receipt record | Actual arrival, expected contents and recorded differences |
| Stock to dispatch | Released SKU quantities, packing list and carton identifiers | Buyer instruction, final carton count and handover record |
| International movement | Shipment reference and provider-issued transport references | Dated provider or carrier events and the goods covered |
| Import and UK delivery | Broker or clearance case and delivery reference, where applicable | Outstanding action, confirmed handover and receiving outcome |
Record observations without upgrading their meaning
Copy the original event wording and save the source, event time, time zone and the time you checked it. Separate a label being created from a carrier accepting the goods. Ask which facility an origin departure refers to before describing it as departure from China. A warehouse signature can confirm a parcel handover while contents and product checks remain outstanding. Retain original wording for clarification and separate estimates from completed events.
Back to guide contentsName the person who can answer the next question
Name the contact for supplier dispatch, China receipt, collection, international movement, import action and UK receiving. Confirm who coordinates handovers. Ask the relevant contact which reference they need, what they can verify and when they will answer. Share order and carton details through the agreed contact channel.
Back to guide contentsUse a specific follow-up when scans go quiet
Set the review trigger with the actual provider and movement plan; avoid one waiting period for every route. If an agreed update is missing, send the shipment reference, cartons covered, last observed event and the action you need confirmed. Ask whether the goods were physically handed over, which party currently holds the next task, and what evidence or revised update can be provided. An unchanged tracker establishes a gap in the record. Keep location or movement unconfirmed until you obtain evidence.
- Original enquiry example: shipment DEMO-T7 covers cartons C1–C4. The last recorded event is [original wording, date and time zone]. Please confirm the handover completed, the party handling the next stage and the next update you can provide.
- Add any action requested from the buyer, the response owner and the agreed follow-up date to the same log.

Close the journey at receipt
Keep final delivery evidence and the warehouse receipt record together. A delivery scan and a checked stock quantity answer different questions.
Treat import messages as an action to verify
If a provider reports an import query, ask who is handling it, the case reference, which goods it covers and the exact information or action outstanding. Verify requests through the provider’s known contact channel before sharing documents or making a payment. Keep document requests, buyer responses and the provider’s confirmed outcome together. An arrival scan does not itself establish customs release, and a release update leaves final delivery to arrange. Use case details and current official requirements for import decisions.
Back to guide contentsClose the movement with the UK receiving result
Pass the final delivery reference, appointment and packing list to the receiving warehouse. Ask it to identify the cartons received and record discrepancies under the agreed receiving scope. In an invented example, a delivery record covers three cartons while the released packing list contains four. Keep the fourth carton open and ask whether a separate delivery or reference exists; do not close it because one tracking number says delivered. Add the answer to the map; handle shortages, damage and claims separately.

Share the supplier orders, China receipt records, current shipment references and last confirmed event. Include your UK receiving details and the handover you need clarified so we can discuss the support required.
Questions before you order
Why do I have several tracking numbers for one purchase?
The supplier may split parcels and later stages may use different references. Ask for a map connecting the numbers to the actual cartons, receipts and transport stages so each reference has a defined scope.
Does departed origin facility mean the goods have left China?
Ask the provider to identify the facility and event. Preserve the original status; the wording alone may not establish an international departure.
How long should I wait before following up?
Agree a shipment-specific review trigger and next update with the provider. Follow up sooner when it requests action or a confirmed commitment is missed; avoid applying another route’s published scan-gap table.
Can I close the order when tracking says delivered?
Confirm the destination, cartons covered and actual receiving record. Reconcile any split delivery and outstanding stock before closing the movement. Product condition and quantity checks follow their agreed scope.

Fishgoo supplied the commercial topic reference for linking domestic, international and delivery tracking. The reference map, enquiry wording and carton example are our original UK business guidance. We do not adopt its scan-gap thresholds, transit descriptions or service promises.
