A logistics park brings storage buildings, loading bays and vehicle routes into one setting. Look beyond the size of the buildings: the useful buying questions concern where suppliers deliver, who records each arrival and when goods move on.

These further views bring attention to the space around a warehouse: yards, approach roads and loading edges. Use them to prepare practical questions about delivery appointments and collection instructions. Select a photograph to see it larger; the source credit opens its published post.

PUT THE VIEWS INTO PRACTICE

Where will your order enter the handling process?

01

Name the receiving point

Put the receiving address, contact and delivery reference on the supplier instructions. A large site may contain several separate operators.

02

Separate arrival from acceptance

A vehicle reaching the gate does not confirm the number or condition of cartons. Agree what receipt record and checks you will receive.

03

Plan the next movement

Ask how incoming stock is identified, held and released. Confirm any delivery booking, storage period and collection charges in the quote.

For your order

Before placing an order, share the receiving instructions with every supplier and record who will confirm arrival. Keep the receipt, checks and release instruction as separate steps.
