What can you decide from 1688 QC photos?
1688 QC photos can show visible features of the identified units pictured. Match them to the order, SKU and approved reference, then check whether the view, lighting and scale answer the question. Request missing evidence. Record functional checks, measurements, sampling and product-document review separately; the photos do not establish the condition of every unit.

A useful QC photo links one visible finding to the order, model and feature being reviewed.

Match the photos to the order and photographed units
Identify the order, supplier, SKU, variant, receipt and unit or carton shown in each QC photo. Ask how the pictured units were selected and how many units the photographs represent. Keep the report reference with the files. Resolve an unlabelled image's batch identity before using it to approve stock movement.
Back to guide contentsSeparate visible findings from checks still open
Write the question beside the image you are reviewing. A clear close-up can show one label while leaving unseen labels unexamined. Check that pictured measurement points and the scale follow your agreed method. A power-on picture leaves other functional questions open. Record each obtained result and remaining check separately.
Scroll sideways if needed. Keyboard: focus the table area and use the left and right arrow keys.
| Question | Evidence to request | What remains open |
|---|---|---|
| Is this our variant? | SKU reference, whole item and identifying label | Other unpictured variants or units |
| Is the printed text correct? | Readable close-up against approved artwork | Text on unexamined packs and any separate regulatory review |
| Does the dimension match? | Agreed measuring points and readable scale | Tolerance, method and the rest of the batch |
| Does it work as required? | Results from the agreed functional check | Features and conditions outside that check |
Ask for a retake that answers one question
Reference the unclear file and identify what prevents a decision: a cropped label, unreadable scale, reflected light or an obscured feature. State the view required, the item or carton to use and the reference to include. Our inspection and photography services are free. Confirm the requested scope, timing and access, keeping new files linked to the finding. Review whether each required feature has usable evidence.
- Original request example: SKU DEMO-14, carton C3, image 02 — the lower label line is cropped. Please show the complete label straight on, with the SKU card beside it.
- For a dimension: identify the two measuring points, the unit and the approved drawing; ask for the result and method to be recorded with the view.
- For colour: ask about the lighting and comparison reference, and agree a suitable assessment where colour is an acceptance requirement.

Ask for the missing view
Name the unit, angle, reference and measurement required. Record what the resulting photo can establish and what remains untested.
Keep the batch coverage beside the finding
In an invented example, photographs show two identified units from a 200-unit receipt. One has a visible mark. Record the finding against that unit and request the checking needed to establish the affected quantity. Two photographed units do not establish that all 200 were checked or support a batch defect rate. Keep the agreed selection method and any opened or used samples in the stock reconciliation.
Back to guide contentsAsk for a clear stock decision before packing
Review the findings against the agreed criteria and decide which named quantity can move, which needs more work and which awaits supplier discussion. Give the holding team a dated instruction and obtain acknowledgement. Ask whether packing has started and what access remains available if further photographs are needed. Request the provider’s actual handling options rather than assuming a packed order can always be reopened. Keep return or remedy discussions under their own records; a clear photograph supports the discussion without establishing the supplier’s response or an agreed refund.
Back to guide contentsSave a review record another buyer can follow
Retain the approved reference, original photo files, checking scope, follow-up request, resulting evidence and buyer decision together. Label an unanswered feature as pending, with its next action and owner. Preserve earlier findings when a new image changes the decision. Carry approved quantities into the packing record, with examined items and unresolved questions identifiable.
Back to guide contentsKeep checking evidence separate from a sales-image brief
A photo that identifies a measured fault can be useful QC evidence while leaving a sales question unanswered. Record whether each image shows the current model, actual contents and the feature its caption describes. For sales material, give a separate shot list, establish the right to use supplied images and check product claims against supported facts. Our photography is free. State the requested views, styling, file format and editing deliverables in the brief so the team can confirm the work.

Send your SKU list, approved references and questions for the photographs. We can discuss checks and reporting before release.
Questions before you order
Does a QC photo mean the whole batch was inspected?
Check the recorded scope, units selected and results. Images of a few identified units do not establish that every unit was examined. Keep the received, checked, affected and released quantities separate.
Can I approve a colour from a warehouse photo?
Decide whether the lighting, display and comparison reference provide the evidence your requirement needs. If colour is critical, agree a suitable assessment and record its limitations before approval.
How many photographs should I request?
List the features and views needed to answer your questions. Our inspection and photography are free. Agree the checks, views and practical access required for your goods.
What should I do when an image is unclear?
Name the file, SKU and unclear feature; explain the view or measurement needed and confirm access. Keep the finding pending until usable evidence or an explicit buyer decision is recorded.
